Important Things To Know When Visiting

The Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Association

The Buffalo Soldiers Heritage Association is open daily and free to the public. Horse visits are made possible through the goodwill of the horse owners. In this way horse owners and stable volunteers expend a lot of effort to manage the stable land and provide quality care to the horses.

Pony Rides

Horse riding aroung the corral takes place the months of April through October, weather permitting. Please, contact the BSHA before arrival to verify riding before your visit.

All pony rides are hand led by trained volunteers around the corral. We ask that you do not wear flip flops if planning to have a ride.

The current price is $7.00 for one ride around the corral and $10.00 for two.

Feeding the Horses

Visitors are allowed to feed the horses following instruction and supervision from volunteers working at the stables.

Horses may only have carrots or cut red apples.

Stable Grounds

Please park in areas identified as visitor parking.

Do not enter stable buildings or grazing land without permission from volunteers working the stables.

Please plan to wear proper shoes to prevent injury when walking on stable grounds.
